Balayage is one of the most sought-after hair coloring processes in existence today, and it is only becoming more popular with the recent trends of ombre hair color. According to L'Oreal's website:
"Balayage is a coloring technique used to create sun-kissed, natural-looking highlights. Used as an alternative to foil highlighting, it is the action in which hair color is swept or painted on to the hair to create depth and dimension.Recently, L'Oreal announced plans to formalize their Balayage training for salons across the United States, creating a full Balayage Certification Program.
Balayage is the in-salon color service choice among the most discerning clients ā celebrities, models and fashionistas ā that demand hair color to be designed exclusively for them. And Balayage hair painting isnāt just for Blondes! It is perfect for brunettes that want a subtle, sun-kissed look."
According to The Colorist Magazine, the program will be broken into 4 classes, divided by levels:
- Balayage Foundations (2-day demonstrations with hands-on mannequin sessions)
- Balayage Advanced (2-day demonstrations with hands-on mannequin sessions)
- Balayage Creative (2-day demonstrations with hands-on mannequin sessions)
- Balayage Live (3-day demonstrations with hands-on mannequin sessions)
Following the completion of all 4 classes, colorists will be officially "Balayage Certified" by L'Oreal.
