For a Cause: Massage Therapist Raises over $27,000 in Cross-Country Solo Run

One of the things I am most struck by working in the beauty industry is the general attitudes of kindness, giving, and wellness. This has been proven to me over and over again throughout the thousands of conversations I have had with clients over the years, but I recently read an article that just blew me away. Jessica Goldman, a massage therapist from New Hampshire, recently completed a solo, self-supported run across the United States to raise money for the Brain Injury Association of America. Jessica was only the second woman to ever complete a cross-country solo run.

According to Massage Magazine, she was inspired by two of her friends who are living with brain injuries, and her focus and motivation to continue running came from thinking of them. Jessica said, "I couldn't give up, because I didn't want them to give up."

Jessica began her run in San Francisco on April 16, and completed it on July 15 in New York, New York. She has far surpassed her goal of raising $15,750 for the Brain Injury Association of America, with current donations totaling over $27,000.
