I love sandalwood...lotion, oils, candles-I love it all! I was excited to see an article this week on the correlation between sandalwood and skin regeneration.
In a nutshell, researchers discovered that skin cells have olfactory receptors that respond specifically to sandalwood. According to their research and studies, wound healing and skin regeneration increases when these particular olfactory receptors are activated.
One more reason to love the earthy scent! It's also great news for the industry who can utilize the essential oils not only in aromatherapy but in massage/facial oils and as an excellent retail item for at home use.
