From the time we are kids, we are taught the importance of vitamins to help be strong and healthy (I'm a Flinstone kid!) on the inside. As adults, we learn the importance of vitamins to help stay healthy and fight the evil forces of aging. We cannot forget the importance of vitamins for our skin, the first thing people see!
I was reading an article last week on some of the trends at The Face & Body® Midwest Spa Conference & Expo and one section was regarding a lecture on the importance of vitamins for the skin.
Here is a small sampling of the benefits of the most common vitamins:
- Vitamin C is excellent for countering the effects of sun exposure, pollution, and smoke among other free radicals. Vitamin C also is useful in the production of collagen.
- Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant, helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, is great on dry skin and when combined with Vitamin C you have double powered protector against the sun.
- Vitamin A is also great for reducing the appearance on wrinkles and is beneficial in acne treatments.
- Biotin is an extremely important B vitamin essential for hair, nails and skin. Adding a biotin treatment can give your clients an instant healthy glow. It's hydrating (think, pump!), toning and has anti inflammatory properties.
