Amber Solo All-In-One Gel Polish: Application Instructions and Tips!

The newest nail craze is here - the brand new Amber Solo All-in-One Gel Polish! The first of its kind on the market, Amber Solo is a gel polish base coat, color, and top coat, all in ONE bottle! Best part is, it cures in ANY LED or UV nail lamp, and lasts 2+ weeks. WOW!

Any nail salon already performing gel polish manicures should definitely keep reading! Amber Solo is going to change the game...again!

By incorporating the base and top coats into the color coat step, your treatment time is cut by 2/3rds! What does that mean for the salon? Less time per treatment, equating to more treatments per day....which means more profit for your business! What does that mean for the client? Less time at your table, for the same great treatment! It is a win-win situation!

Nail Preparation

  1. Push back and trim cuticles.
  2. Trim and file nail to desired length and shape
  3. Lightly buff nail bed to remove all shine from nail.
  4. Apply 70% alcohol to lint-free pad, and wipe each nail to remove any oil or residue.
PRO TIP: Do NOT perform a wet manicure prior to applying Amber Solo, and be sure to remove any and all residue from each nail. Your goal is to create a smooth nail surface to apply Amber Solo.

Solo Application
  1. Select your Solo Color of choice. To ensure even application, shake bottle well. PRO TIP: Product will be thicker than traditional gel polishes - this is normal, since the base coat and top coat are built in! Also, the brush is more narrow than traditional polish brushes - this is to provide the technician with more control over application.
  2. Apply a thin coat of Solo to nails, making sure to cap the free edge. Cure 30 seconds in LED light.
  3. Cap free edges ONLY. Cure 30 seconds in LED light.
  4. Apply second coat of Solo. Cure 30 seconds in LED light.
  5. Remove tacky layer using one of the following methods:
    1. Spray or wipe each nail with 70% alcohol. PRO TIP: Using an alcohol higher than 70% will result in a duller finish. Therefore, ONLY use 70% alcohol!
    2. Apply Amber Hand and Foot Recovery (or any luxurious hand cream!) to the hands, and gently massage into the hands and nails. The massage will result in the removal of the tacky layer.

Important Notes to Remember When Using Amber Solo:
  • The Solo formula is SELF-LEVELING - meaning the technicians job is to ensure even application on the nails, taking care to apply as close to the cuticle and side walls as possible, without getting Solo on the skin. If the color looks streaky, ITS OK - the self-leveling formula will blend out any streaks!
  • Due to the thickness of this product, the gel polish tends to pull back as soon as it is exposed to air. If you do not work quickly enough, you may experience the polish "pulling back" from the edges of the nail. If you find this is happening, another option is to work closely with the lamp, applying Solo to 2 or 3 fingers at a time. While those fingers are curing, you can apply to the same 2 or 3 fingers on the other hands. Going back and forth will help you avoid pull back.
